Derek’s practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, private equity, securities law and general corporate law. He has extensive experience acting for both national and international public and private corporations. He has been counsel to companies involved in many high profile transactions in recent years and he has been featured in the 'Big Deals' section of Lexpert magazine on numerous occasions.

Derek articled with a leading business law firm in the Peel Region before joining a leading national and international law firm as an associate for several years prior to joining Loopstra Nixon in March 2011.
