Clients and friends joined the partners, lawyers and staff on June 4, 2008 to celebrate the firms 35th Anniversary. The function was held at the Loopstra Nixon LLP office at 135 Queens Plate Drive, Toronto. The cocktail reception was an overwhelming success. The evening concluded with the a trip down memory lane and a cake cutting ceremony.
On July 10, 2006, Loopstra Nixon LLP hosted a municipal law seminar at the Toronto Board of Trade (Airport Centre). Our special guests Brad Duguid, MPP, Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing, and Brad Graham, Assistant Deputy Minister, Ontario Growth Secretariat, Ministry of Public Infrastructure and Renewal, provided guests with an informative and insightful presentation on Planning Act and OMB reform, the Growth Plan for the Greater Golden Horseshoe, and IGAP. On May 19, 2005 the partners of Loopstra Nixon LLP celebrated, at Centro Mill and Wine Bar, the launch of Quinto Annibale's new book, "Municipal Lands: Acquisition, Management and Disposition", published by Canada Law Book.
The Partners and Staff of Loopstra Nixon organize an annual BBQ Fundraiser for the Carol Annibale Ovarian Cancer Foundation in June. With generous donations from staff, clients and the tenants of Woodbine Place the event raises a substantial amount for this worthwhile cause.
The Carol Annibale Ovarian Cancer Foundation is a non-profit, registered, charitable organization dedicated to the memory of Carol Annibale, the late wife of Quinto Annibale, one of the partners of Loopstra Nixon LLP. Money raised by the foundation is used to fund medical research aimed at finding a cure for Ovarian Cancer and aimed at developing an effective method of early detection.
