Philip practices in the areas of civil and commercial litigation. Prior to joining the firm, Philip articled at the Toronto office of a leading international law firm and worked at a distinguished commercial litigation boutique. His litigation experience includes injunctive relief, breach of fiduciary duty claims, and breach of contract claims, judicial review, wrongful dismissal, regulatory enforcement proceedings and international arbitration. He has appeared before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice and the Ontario Court of Appeal.
During law school, Philip was an editor for the Ottawa Law Review, and competed on the International Foreign Direct Investment Arbitration moot team in Germany, where his team placed 7th in the world. He graduated cum laude. Philip also interned with Global Affairs Canada and published a comparative report with the Public Interest Advocacy Centre on the dispute resolution mechanisms in Canada’s Agreement on Internal Trade.
Prior to law, Philip pursued graduate studies in international development and worked as a public relations and digital media consultant. Philip was raised in England, and has lived in Calgary, Montreal and Johannesburg. His interests include tech start-ups and innovation, travel and his Great Dane Ginsburg.
