Daron practices municipal liability defence, public law litigation and general civil litigation. She has experience in obtaining injunctions to enforce municipal by-laws, and has spoken on the topic of illegal dumping and large-scale commercial “clean fill” operations. In addition to personal injury matters, Daron defends municipalities in building code negligence and defamation claims. Daron also acts for private clients in commercial litigation matters. She appears before all levels of court in Ontario.
In her spare time, Daron is a do-it-yourselfer, and attempts to be a gardener. She enjoys camping, skiing and playing board games.
Daron articled with Loopstra Nixon before joining the firm in 2008.
Representative Client Work
Represented municipality in judicial review of decision of Information and Privacy Commissioner regarding disclosure of closed council meeting discussions.
Defended municipalities in claims relating to sewer back-ups, septic system failures, road and sidewalk maintenance, and Occupiers’ Liability.
