We have over 25 years of experience advising clients in the energy sector.

Since the early 1980s, we have provided a full range of legal services to municipal electrical utilities (MEUs). We were involved in the conversion of many MEUs into OBCA corporations following the enactment of the Electricity Act in 1998. We developed and implemented one of the very first public tender sales of a local distribution company in Ontario following the introduction of the first tax holiday (Uxbridge Hydro sale to Meridian). We also acted for the utility in completing that transaction. Since then, we have acted as corporate counsel on several similar transactions throughout Ontario.

We advise energy companies and municipalities on issues related to the Green Energy Act, and have also acted as roster counsel to the Ontario Energy Board on regulatory and rate hearings.
