Bio
Sarah is a litigator in the firm's municipal liability and insurance defence group.
She represents municipalities, corporations and insurers in various matters including occupiers' liability, personal injury, property damage and Building Code disputes. She regularly appears on behalf of clients before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, the Ontario Small Claims Court, and on mediations.
Aside from her litigation practice, Sarah also advises institutions regarding their obligations under the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, and has successfully represented clients on appeals to the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Ontario.
Sarah returned to Loopstra Nixon as an associate after summering and articling with the firm. She obtained her Juris Doctor (J.D.) from Queen's University of Faculty of Law and holds an Honours Bachelor of Science from McMaster University.
She is a member of the Canadian Bar Association, the Ontario Bar Association, Canadian Defence Lawyers, The Advocates' Society, the Toronto Lawyers' Association, and Young Women in Law.
