A graduate of the Faculty of Law at Queen’s University, Ian will be articling at Loopstra Nixon during the 2020-2021 term. While at Queen’s University, Ian engaged in a broad spectrum of legal learning with courses ranging from Alternative Dispute Resolution and Trial Advocacy, to Corporate Finance and Competition Law. Throughout his tenure at Queen’s, Ian was involved in career services support for the law faculty where he assisted students with their career enquiries. Ian also received the Queen’s Law Prize in Taxation during his 2018-2019 academic year.
Prior to attaining his Juris Doctorate from Queens Law, Ian obtained a BA (Honours) undergraduate degree in History from Trent University with a minor in Economics. Between Trent University and Queens Law, he also completed an additional academic year obtaining a Certificate in Marketing and Entrepreneurship.
After working three successive years as a summer student with LN, Ian is looking forward to broadening his legal experience and knowledge during his articles of clerkship in the various legal departments in the firm. In his spare time Ian is an avid traveler who enjoys staying fit and active at the gym. He is also an prolific reader and movie buff.
