Bio
Amanda Parsons is an associate in the firm’s Litigation Group. Her practice focuses on the defence of municipalities, insurers, and corporations in a broad range of disputes, including personal injury, property damage, land use, and commercial matters.
Amanda holds a Juris Doctor from the University of New Brunswick and an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Laurentian University. During law school, she represented UNB at the Canadian National Negotiation Competition, gaining valuable experience in advocacy and dispute resolution.
Prior to entering the legal profession, Amanda worked extensively in the insurance industry as an adjuster, with roles including independent insurance adjuster, large loss property adjuster, catastrophe services adjuster, and special investigations specialist. This background provides her with unique insight into the complexities of insurance litigation and regulatory compliance.
Before joining the firm, Amanda practiced in the areas of criminal law, quasi-criminal law, and regulatory law, with a particular focus on administrative proceedings before the Licence Appeal Tribunal. She has frequently represented clients in matters involving the Ontario Motor Vehicle Industry Council (OMVIC), navigating intricate regulatory frameworks and advocating for professional licensees.
Amanda brings to her litigation practice a pragmatic, client-focused approach and a strong understanding of the industries she serves.
