Bio

Erin is an associate in the firm's Municipal & Insurance Litigation group.

Erin’s practice focuses on the defence of municipalities and their insurers in a wide range of matters, including personal injury, occupiers’ liability, property damage and Building Code disputes, subrogation matters, motor vehicle accidents, by-law enforcement, human rights complaints, as well as enforcement proceedings. Erin has appeared before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, Small Claims Court, and Ontario Human Rights Tribunal. 

Erin has published an article in the Municipal Liability Risk Management newsletter, discussing the Ontario Court of Appeal’s decision in Henry v Zaitlen, 2024 ONCA 614, concerning pre-judgment interest in personal injury actions and the broader implications for defence counsel.  

Erin began her legal career at Loopstra Nixon as a summer student and articled with the firm before returning as an associate. Erin obtained her J.D. from Queen’s University. While in law school, Erin volunteered with Pro Bono Students Canada and received the course prize in Fiduciary Obligations.  

Erin also holds an Honour’s Bachelor of Arts in Criminology from Western University, where she graduated with distinction.
