Tom is a member of the firm’s Bankruptcy, Insolvency and Restructuring practice group, and the firm’s Corporate/Commercial law practice group.
In the Bankruptcy, Insolvency and Restructuring context, Tom regularly acts for creditors, debtors, licensed insolvency trustees and receivers in insolvency, bankruptcy and receivership scenarios. His experience includes acting for stakeholders in both litigation and corporate/commercial matters within distressed business environments – including in respect of acquisitions, formal and informal workouts, security enforcements and bankruptcy applications, reviewable transactions, restructurings and liquidations.
In the Corporate/Commercial context, Tom has a diverse practice – representing businesses in M&A, commercial lending, share sales and general commercial transactions.
Before joining the Loopstra Nixon LLP team, Tom worked at a general full-service law firm in Hamilton, Ontario, where he specialized in Bankruptcy, Insolvency and Restructuring law with an emphasis in litigation.
