LN Bulletin: Proposed Changes to Province’s Four Land Use Plans

Earlier this week, the Ontario government announced that it would be proposing changes to four provincial land use plans: the Growth Plan for the Greater Golden Horseshoe, the Greenbelt Plan, the Oak Ridges Moraine Conservation Plan, and the Niagara Escarpment plan.

The announcement marks the next stage of the province’s coordinated land use planning review of the four plans initiated in 2015. Key changes to all four plans can be broadly divided across eight themes, as summarized below.

Draft versions of all four plans can be found on the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing’s website.

Members of the public are invited to submit comments and feedback by mail or online by September 30, 2016, or to attend an open house.

If you have questions about these proposed changes or any aspect of municipal, land use planning, or development law, please contact Quinto Annibale, Steve Ferri or Mark Joblin.
