Bio

Harman is a member of the Banking & Financial Services group at Loopstra Nixon and works with Steven Sager, a partner with over 25 years of experience in the secured lending space.

Harman summered and articled with Macdonald Sager LLP, where he took interest in Commercial Lending, Corporate Strategy & Structuring, and Commercial Real Estate law. He now continues his practice in the same areas at Loopstra Nixon.

Harman graduated with distinction as part of the Inaugural Class of the Lincoln Alexander School of Law. There, Harman was heavily involved in extracurriculars, serving in teaching & mentorship roles, as well as student associations. He competed and participated in the McCarthy Cup (contract law), and in the Harold G. Fox (IP law) moot competitions. He supported his peers as a note taker and joining the Student Tri-Mentoring Program. Harman also served as a teaching assistant for the following courses: Foundations of Law, Ethics & Professionalism, and LASL Coding Intensive. Along the way, Harman was made a ‘Lincoln Scholar’ for the Indigenous and Aboriginal Law course, a position offered by faculty to students who excelled in the class. Finally, he founded and served as the president for the Lincoln Alexander chapter of the South Asian Law Students’ Association, and further served as the CRO of the Access to Justice Club (the precursor to the Lincoln Alexander chapter of Pro-Bono Students’ Canada).

At McMaster, Harman studied business and economics, graduating with honours and making the Dean’s List. While making Hamilton his home away from home, Harman started several small ventures with friends to add a practical dimension to the lessons he learned in class.

Harman has always prioritized giving back to the community, whether it be through Karepackage, a non-profit he co-founded aimed at helping to alleviate the challenges of homelessness; YUVA, an international charity with the goal of empowering youth to reach their professional and individual potentials; or through writing several books centered around the journey behind becoming a lawyer, which he offers to his peers for free at harmanbath.ca/books. He continues his efforts by serving on the board of directors for multiple non-profit organizations.

Born in Etobicoke, and raised in Brampton, Harman has now made his home in Toronto over the past several years. Outside the office, Harman enjoys golfing, hanging out with friends, and being an uncle to his niece and nephew.
