Bio

Mattison Chinneck is a partner at Loopstra Nixon LLP with a practice focused on labour and employment law, commercial litigation, and police law. He acts for employers, public institutions, and corporate clients in complex, high-stakes matters where reputational and operational risks are front and centre.

Mattison has deep experience advising and litigating on behalf of Ontario police services, particularly in investigations, discipline, and governance. His work often involves allegations of misconduct, breaches of trust, and executive-level accountability—where the stakes demand discretion, judgment, and strategic clarity.

In the labour and employment space, Mattison represents employers in grievance arbitration, collective bargaining, human rights proceedings, and workplace investigations. He has acted in union certification disputes, unlawful strike applications, and Labour Relations Board proceedings across sectors.

Mattison also acts in commercial disputes involving fraud, misrepresentation, real estate litigation, and contractual breakdowns. He is regularly retained in urgent matters requiring injunctive relief, including Mareva and Anton Piller orders. Clients rely on his clear advice, efficient case management, and steady courtroom presence to resolve disputes quickly and decisively.
